In 1997 Antonino Rodolico and his wife Lynn began caring for the property personally, taking over the production of the oil and its marketing.

The production is limited in quantity but unlimited in quality.

La Tenuta di Villa L’Arrigo is situated South-West of Florence, in the hills that overlook the city. In addition to offering an extremely beautiful view, these hills have been renown for centuries for producing an extraordinary olive oil. L’Arrigo is approximately 60 acres and has been owned for generations by Antonino Rodolico’s family, coming from his mother, the countess Maria Luisa de’ Micheli.

The history of the Rodolico family is a cross between the agricultural and cultural life.

Antonino’s paternal grandfather was the famous historian Niccolò Rodolico, and his maternal grandfather was a lawyer, son of the mayor of Scandicci.

The family of Lynn were among the first settlers in the United States.

Pilgrims from Great Britain, in search of religious freedom, Lynn’s ancestor was the first child from Europe to be born in Bucks Country, Pennsylvania, more than 400 years ago.

In 1985, Lynn was the first of her family to return to live in Europe. Having already written and published four novels, she had come to Florence to finish a fifth. On her very first day in Italy, she met Antonino, the man who would convince her to remain forever in beautiful Tuscany. Since then, the family has been blessed by two daughters, Lisa and Francesca.

The particular position of the hills of Arrigo, with their optimal exposition, permit the olive trees to absorb no more than the water they need and all the sun which they require.
The generous soil and the ideal geographic position do the rest to produce an oil exceptionally low in acidity.

Antonino and Lynn, who come from diverse experiences and cultures, work together to realize a product that is excellent, healthy and elegant, creating the most genuine olive oil available in the tradition of Tuscany. A knowledgeable consumer will recognize the difference between an ordinary quality olive oil that can be found on any supermarket shelf, and that of L’Arrigo which has been grown and harvested with every personal care.
